Training Manager

Position: Training Manager

Organisation: CEQ

Location: Torres Strait & Northern Peninsula Area & remote mainland communities

Area: Human Resources

Reports to: General Manager Human Resources

Approved By: Ian Copeland Chief Executive Officer

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the identification, development, delivery and evaluation of training to build capacity of CEQ staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensure staff training and development aligns with organisational objectives
  • Undertake a skills analysis of staff and maintain a skills register
  • Develop, deliver, assess and evaluate technical and non-technical training including food safety
  • Ensure compliance with ASQA and AQTF
  • Work with other training providers including relevant RTO’s
  • Develop and implement employee training plans
  • Evaluate retail operations training including customer service training annually
  • Develop and prepare training materials as required
  • Modify delivery to ensure consideration of the different learning methodologies used by individuals
  • Assist in the implementation of succession planning
  • Work in a team environment
  • Develop and deliver training that is in accordance with compliance requirements
  • Monitor WH&S in the workplace
  • Analyse data to effect improvements in training outcomes
  • Provide feedback and reports to the executive team

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position manages the training team

 

Requirements of the role

Essential Requirements

  • A willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • A willingness to travel and work remotely
  • Work constructively in a team environment
  • Cleared criminal history check

 

Essential Qualifications/Education/Skills and/or Experience/Licenses

  • A minimum 12 months experience working in a remote location
  • Prior experience in a training role
  • Certificate IV in TAE
  • High level coaching ability
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in funding submissions

 

Job Requirements

Travel to and reside in communities is a necessity

  1. Tasks are completed within agreed timeframes
  2. Reports to executive team are delivered within time frames
  1. A safe working environment is maintained
